About Hackathon

In line with King Khalid University’s commitment to fostering innovation and addressing regional challenges, the College of Computer Science is launching the HPC/AI Hackathon in Asir. This event aims to enhance agricultural production, preserve vegetation diversity, improve climate predictions, and better manage natural resources using high-performance computing (HPC) and AI.

The Asir region, known for its rich heritage and diverse landscapes, faces sustainability challenges. Technological advancements in HPC offer a unique opportunity to address these issues with AI solutions.

We believe the participants’ collective creativity and expertise will yield innovative solutions contributing to Asir’s sustainability and prosperity.

This course provides a hands-on demo of the NIMBIX plaaorm for par.cipants. They will explore the plaaorm's features, access tools, and discuss coding and sebngs needs. The session aims to familiarize par.cipants with NIMBIX to enhance their hackathon experience.

Participants are free to choose either Arabic or English for the content and presentation.

No, each team can choose only one track and propose one idea.

No, you can only register with one team.

No, you can only register with a team, consisting of 3 or 4 members including the team leader.

Review the hackathon idea, tracks, and challenges, build a great team, choose the best team leader for your team, and register by clicking on “Join the Hackathon” button

The hackathon lasts 3 days, starting on Monday, September 2, 2024, and ending on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.

The hackathon will be held at the King Khalid University Exhibition and Conference Center in Abha, in Al-Qara’a campus.

The absence of any member will affect the team by excluding them.

The number of team members must be between 3 or 4, no less or more.

No, there is no registration fee for the hackathon.

Your team can consist of 3 or 4 people with experience in the required skills (Programming – Artificial Intelligence – Hackathon tracks). You can join the Slack channel to help you form your team for the hackathon by clicking here.

After the final acceptance,  all participants will be added to the hackathon’s WhatsApp group, where all announcements and details will be shared. For any issues, team leaders should contact the hackathon team.

No, the hackathon does not provide travel tickets, housing, or transportation for participants. Participants are responsible for these costs. University students can contact their universities to request support for these expenses.
